Make a document using Ruby

With our REST API, Ruby developers can create documents in almost any format. To do this, you need to perform a few steps using our Ruby Cloud SDK:

  1. Set file name
  2. Call the 'CreateDocument' method to create a document in Ruby
  3. Save the output file in the selected format

Since an empty document is supposed to formally contain one paragraph, when you programmatically create a document, you will get just such a basic structure.

Note that it is possible to add content to a newly created document instantly. Thus, you will get not just an empty document, but a document that contains the required content. For more information on how to modify a document, see the 'Edit a Document' page.

Create a document in Ruby

As already mentioned, our Ruby Cloud SDK allows you to programmatically create documents in any supported format. config.client_data['ClientId'] = '####-####-####-####-####'
  config.client_data['ClientSecret'] = '##################'
end
@words_api = WordsAPI.new
file_name= 'Output.docx'

create_document_request = CreateDocumentRequest.new(file_name: file_name)
@words_api.create_document(create_document_request)
